Teachers, in both public and private schools, are often limited in the number of unique resources available in their classrooms. Many requests are for tools or resources that can be used in numerous classrooms over a number of years.

Teachers appreciate having access to an additional set of books, a computer program, a unique tool for applying math concepts, a simple science instrument, a simple musical object, or materials for student projects. Grants provide for projects that require student participation and help raise the level of learning for an entire class or multiple classes.

The Educational Foundation of Watertown has been issuing grants to teachers since its inception in 1998. Scores of teachers have been awarded the opportunity to help increase student learning by providing, otherwise unattainable tools and experiences. Each donation goes to help fund these grants.
